Chan Chich Lodge is located deep in the Belizean jungle, boasting one of the only – if not the only – public guest lodge situated within ancient Mayan ruins. A handful of thoughtfully crafted cottages, a bar and restaurant, glassed-in pool, and an army of all-terrain vehicles make up the hospitable habitat to accommodate adventurous guests. The lodge isn’t located in a city, and there are no locks on the doors. And the best way to reach the lodge is by 4-wheel drive or private charter. It’s a destination resort unlike any other.
The website was designed to draw attention to the lodge’s jungle environment, Mayan sensitivity, elite bird-watching position, and laudable sustainability efforts. A fairly simple color palette of deep green and an array of camels provided the foundation for a slew of custom, Mayan-inspired icons. Photography was sourced both from professionals as well as guests with a keen eye, to bring the perspective to that of the traveler: the adventurer who comes to trek in the jungle and sleep to the birdsong.
